This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Hello! I am a sixth grade teach at a Title One school in northern California. I have a really great group of English language learners this year in a self contained class. My students have are all learning English as a second language and will be concentrating their efforts this year on acquiring English language reading/writing skills as well as vocabulary.
Because I have such a unique group of children, I am more than happy to allow them access to my classroom during lunch to socialize and get to know one another. I feel that this gives them a chance to practice their language skills in a less threatening manner and enjoy learning with one another through casual interaction. For this reason I am requesting various games that my students can use to play during lunch time to reinforce their language skills with one another. Many of the games that I selected also reinforce the core subjects that these children study in my classroom, so these games serve a dual purpose! Please consider our wonderfully dynamic group for your donation. Thank you.
