Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We have over 800 students at our school. Ninety percent of our students are Latino and 76% are from low-income families. About 11% of our students are considered special needs. Our students come from hard-working, loving families that want to see their children succeed.

My students are eager to learn and happy to be in school; however, school is challenging for some students who lack social skills, such as the ability to make friends, manage their emotions and/or resolve conflicts positively.

My Project

Everyone knows that kids love playing games! And I love playing games with my students because it is an engaging way for them to build and develop their social skills. The requested games will allow my students to practice the skill being taught, have fun, and create a positive learning experience.

With these games, my students will learn turn-taking, expressing their opinion, conflict resolution, working cooperatively, managing their emotions, problem-solving and decision-making.

Students will also get to know each other, make new friends, and find common interests with other students. Having these games will provide my students the opportunity to learn lifelong skills in a fun and exciting way.
