This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I remember having PE class twice a week as a child and learning new games and how to work with my peers to accomplish something. My students are excited to learn new games and play them with their friends.

My students are a very active group of second graders.

They love to run and move. We dance throughout our day. These are seven and eight year olds who live in a low-income area in Southern California. They do not usually have places to run and stretch their bodies. They work hard in reading, writing, math, and science, but they need the materials to get moving.

My Project

My students will use these balls, scarves, cones, jump ropes, and bean bags Physical Education time. Our school has some limited supplies, but if a teacher takes them to use for P.E. then students do not have things to play with during recess and lunch time. This equipment will help me get my students moving in healthy ways. We will learn games that can teach teamwork and good sportsmanship. These items will make Physical Education more engaging!!

Having access to PE equipment will allow my students to build their confidence.

Students who get exercise are able to focus better in the classroom. They will learn to work together to play games and this will help them work together to solve problems and complete projects in the classroom. Healthier kids are better learners. PE equipment will allow my students to be their best selves.
