Playing to Learn, Learning to Play!

Help me give my students meaningful classroom experiences through dramatic play and hands-on engaging activities! It's crucial to provide children with authentic opportunities to interact and problem solve. The best way to do so is through play-based learning!

My Students

My class is an Advanced Studies Kindergarten class housed in E.B.E Elementary. We are a unique partial magnet program that serves the Title I school and surrounding rural areas. This program gives children from all cultures and incomes an opportunity to learn and thrive at higher levels.

Learning in my classroom is interactive, engaging, and fun!

Our lessons are taught using creative, hands-on activities and student-directed explorations in a safe, comfortable, and inclusive learning environment. I try to incorporate the students’ interests into the curriculum to make learning more meaningful for them. We offer the children a variety of opportunities to explore new ideas and be challenged with new experiences that engage budding readers, writers, scientists, mathematicians and artists.

Passion is the most important quality a teacher can bring to the classroom. Education in early childhood is an incredible journey, and I want my students to love coming to school everyday. My classroom is a safe place where the child’s imagination and creativity is valued and encouraged. In my class, we celebrate and honor childhood because it is the foundation for a person’s future development!

My Project

Learning through play is crucial to a child's social and emotional development. Funding for this project would mean that my students will be provided with the necessary materials to learn through play based opportunities! Play teaches children to self regulate, interact with their peers, communicate, and share, among many others.

With these materials I will be able to start dedicating an hour of every day to purposeful play centers.

These centers will include blocks, art, drama, legos, library, puzzles, painting, play dough, & the sand/water sensory table. Help us learn through play & play to learn! Thank you for your donations!
