My Students
A school is a safe place for my students. Most of them are English Learners and have experienced some sort of trauma in their lives. At school, they feel safe and loved and happy. They get excited about the littlest things!
My Project
We do all sorts of fun practice games in the class room, but many of my students don't have the resources they need to practice at home.
With laminated word and picture cards, my first graders can play "school" while they are at home.
This will give them the essential practice they need to close the gap with so many of my students who are behind.
Your donation will provide me with the tools I need to create these resources for my students to practice at home. Kids LOVE playing "school" and the best part, is that when they do this, they are practicing without even realizing it!
