Help me give my students the tools to learn how to play! Most of my students were learning at home last year. I would like them to have great indoor and outdoor toys to utilize.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from diverse backgrounds from around the globe and attend a high-poverty school. I feel they should have the advantages that would be in an affluent school. They are second language learners and work exceptionally hard to acquire speaking and reading skills.

These amazing students love to learn and need to be reached in a variety of different ways.

They are fun, creative, questioners and dreamers. I want my students to be challenged and to have high-quality and high-interest materials to engage them and help them be knowledgeable about life outside of our city.

My Project

Our school does not have a playground for the students to play on. They have to play on concrete.

The materials I am requesting for my students include toys that will be used every day at recess.

Free play is an integral and oftentimes overlooked part of our day in second grade. My students would love to have new toys and materials that make them think, make them utilize all areas of the brain while encouraging oral language and cooperative play!
