Playing Indoors Can be FUN

Help me give my students materials for indoor play. Our New York weather can be very unpredictable, help give my students a handful of fun indoor activities to do on those rainy and snowy days.

My Students

My students are in the South Bronx and are in a Title I school. My students are resilient, energetic, kind, and welcoming. They love arts and crafts, math, science experiments, singing, and dancing. They are filled with passion and enthusiasm to learn, no matter what they are going through at home. Most of my students this year had come from other countries and who did not speak English.

What makes them so special is that no matter what they've been through they still manage to come to school with smiles on there faces.

They love to talk and share ideas with anyone who would listen. When they see a classmate crying or get hurt, they go and check in on them. They are compassionate and understanding at such an early age! They are amazing!

My Project

These materials aren't just for our students to have fun indoors when the weather isn't cooperating. These materials will help enhance our students fine and gross motor skills. This give our students an opportunity to stay active and engaged while learning. Our students being so young, we try to find fun and engaging activities to help further their learning. These materials can be used indoor and outdoor. Can be used for fun active activities but also be incorporated into lessons in our classroom.

These materials can be created into an obstacle course to continue to intrigue our students and continue to build their fine motor, gross motors and sensory skills.

This will allow our students to play inside the classroom when its too cold for us to go outside or we have inclement weather, like rain or snow.
