My Students

The students at my school are champions! We tell them that and they believe us! Everyday, despite the challenges that many of them face, they work hard to be champions with their schoolwork, manners and expectations.

My class has students from all over the world and many of them do not speak English at home, which makes learning .

We are a Title I school with many language barriers. The international game of chess not only breaks the language barrier, but learning barriers as well.

My Project

I am asking for a class set of chess games. Playing chess not only teaches problem solving skills, but also improves reading and math skills. As a former chess club leader, I have seen excitement and the joy of success students experience when playing chess.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.

Children don't have to be the brightest, strongest or fastest to play chess; every child can know success while playing chess. Playing chess promotes brain growth, teaches planning and foresight and improves memory. Every child deserves a chance for that.
