My Project

School can be a tough place to be if you are a student who struggles. The materials and games in this project will help boost struggling learners to reach their potential. The idea is to build confidence and accountability for their their own learning. For example, a poor reader may be reluctant to read aloud. But if they have a hand puppet who "reads", any mistakes are made by the puppet, not the student.

The brain games and puzzles help students tap in to their thinking and problem solving skills.

These are areas that businesses say are lacking when they interview job applicants. If we start with our youth, we can mold them into life-long survivors in this world.

As I work with students who are in an exceptional learning program, things like timers and incentives are necessary tools of the trade.

Students need appropriate activities to do while rotating through centers. Play Dough, Mazes, highlighters, pens, post-its, and dry erase pockets keep students engaged while learning.
