My Project

Most of the students at PES are low-income students. The playground doubles as a school playground during school hours and a community playground when school is not in session. The students enjoy playing with more than just the usual playground equipment while at recess. Students often enjoy playing basketball on the basketball court at the playground, football or soccer in the grassy area, and sometimes hula hoop or jump rope.

These items give students a break from academic learning, but help the students to learn game rules, sharing, and promote movement after sitting inside most of the day.

Playground toys make playing outside more fun and promote imagination, how to share, and taking turns.
