Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My second graders love being outside and always ask me if it's okay to eat their snacks in the playground! However, my students have lately been noticing trash in the playground and around their school.

As we approach Earth Day, I want to encourage students to create and host their own school clean-ups!

In this project I have included trash pickers and trash bags for each student in the classroom. My goal is to get students involved in taking care of their school and planet Earth. If this project gets funded, I plan for students to keep their trash pickers to use outside of school and during the summer! In this project, I have also included 2 Earth Day books, an Earth Day plush, Earth Day wristbands/pins, and an Earth Day backdrop. These items will be used to inform students of Earth Day and what other tips they can use to reduce waste! Please help my students host a playground clean-up! Thank you!!
