Playground Circuits for Computer Science

Help me give my students Adafruit Circuit Playground Express boards so they can apply the computer science skills we are learning this year to a real-world application.

My Students

My students come from different backgrounds with varying abilities, including special needs. For many students this is their first exposure to computer science. This year they are part of our school’s first year of Computer Science Discoveries.

My students are creative and innovative learners that are eager to influence tomorrow’s technology.

When you step into our school, you can hear languages from all around the world. Although many of my students are learning English as a second language, they all share one thing: a love for solving problems using technology.

My Project

My students will be able to apply the computer science skills they need to the Adafruit Circuit Playground devices. Students will be able to program various types of sensors from temperature, to lights, and sound.

The students will not only strengthen their computer science skills but also practice problem solving skills as they work with others to complete projects.

Students will spend most of the school year using programming to create websites, apps, and games. Using the Adafruit Circuit Playground takes learning one step further to bring projects to life. These skills will help prepare my students for careers that are yet to be developed.
