This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is located in an area where the school funding is strained and limited. The playground balls that my students use are misshaped and leaking. There are many activities that my scholars would love to participate in if they had the equipment to do so.
My scholars are wonderful children who live in a poor, urban, gang-infested area.
The school provides a safe haven for these students to learn, play, and grow safely. The equipment that is currently used is damaged and dilapidated. The balls that we would like to use would help us provide the students with many cooperative educational activities.
My Project
Our Physical Education classes would utilize the red playground balls for various activities for our Pre K- through 8th grade classes. Team building and cooperative activities as well as old school kickball games. Activities that all ages will be excited to play and the ease of the classic red ball will allow.
The students deal with their hardships each day, with their chins up and their goals high.
If the students were able to receive the red playground balls, through the generosity of others, they would understand that all dreams are possible. Yes, its a ball, but for them to know that they have the backing from others, this is priceless. The balls will be utilized in a safe learning environment, and help build class rapport and self confidence, as well as improve ones health through exercise
