One of the many things that I love about my students is their endless curiosity about the world around them. Everything is new to them, and they find a sense of wonder and amazement in the smallest of things. Every new experience leads to a new discovery, and every discover brings with it a greater understanding as well as a sense of accomplishment and pride in their ability to achieve a set goal.
My students face every challenge with a fierce determination that both amazes and inspires me.
For some of my students, the first day of school was difficult. It was the first time that they had been in a classroom environment. They found themselves surrounded by the unfamiliar and the unknown. However, introducing them into a calm, structured, and nurturing environment helped them to quickly adapt. By week two, my students were rapidly mastering the basic skills of letter sounds, learning to read their names, and how to recognize colors and shapes.
It is a privilege for me to work with my students. I enjoy helping their young minds learn about the world around them and all the endless opportunities it has to offer.
My Project
Children learn best from purposeful play. Play develops cognitive, emotional and social skills, Through play children explore their environment and build on their learning.
Social skills such as self-regulation, empathy and problem solving are all enhanced by play.
The materials I am requesting will be used to help my students develop fine motor skills for future writing activities. The students will also be learning how to measure, weigh, and compare with sand and other items in the sensory bin.
These materials will allow me to offer my students new choices and activities. They all have different interests and this will allow me to meet them where they are. Resulting in meaningful play opportunities for all of them!
