This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help me give my students a welcoming space where they can build social-emotional skills and feel safe to express themselves through the power of games!

This project will bring interactive SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) tools into my office, including therapeutic games, emotion-based card sets, and engaging conversation starters.

These resources are designed to teach communication, empathy, self-regulation, and emotional awareness in fun, developmentally appropriate ways. For example, the card sets help prompt meaningful discussions, while the board games allow students to practice taking turns, identifying emotions, and problem-solving together.

The keyboard and ink for our printer will allow me to regularly type and print reflection worksheets, calming strategies, and personalized activities that support each student’s emotional needs. Many of my students are working through big feelings, and traditional lessons can only go so far. By learning through play, they feel more comfortable opening up, making connections, and practicing these important life skills in a low pressure environment.
