Play to Succeed: Whiteboards and Markers for Spanish Class Review

Help me give my students white boards and working dry-erase markers to play review games for their upcoming New York State Spanish Proficiency (Checkpoint A) Exam in June.

My Project

I’m requesting a class set of whiteboards and markers (large classes consist of 30 students) to be able to play Spanish review games before students take their New York State Spanish Proficiency (Checkpoint A) Exam this June. Of course these materials can and will be used for future years as well.

There are so many ways we can practice using whiteboards!

We can review vocabulary with games like Scattergories where students try to come up with the most unique words in categories. We can tap into students’ drawing skills and vocabulary knowledge by playing Pictionary. We can create sentences where students pass the boards forward in the row each adding a word at a time to contribute. We can practice conjugation in isolation individually to check students’ ability to properly change verbs in Spanish to match subjects of the sentence. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination!
