This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is labeled as "moderate poverty", but I do not want that label to stop my kids from getting the education that they deserve!

No matter their lives at home, my students come to my class with smiles on their faces, eager to see what learning I have on the agenda for the day.

My students are eager to learn and eager to please. I am blessed with the opportunity to help my students grow the gift of two languages that they have. This project will help to provide materials that they need for instruction. They deserve it!

My Project

This year has been a year like no other. As a teacher, I never thought that I would have to teach my students how to have recess!

This project will provide students with an indoor recess kit that will allow them to play independently in a socially distanced atmosphere, but still engaged with their peers.

In each plastic kit with lid, students will have markers, colored pencils, paints, playing cards, and other materials to ensure that they are able to enjoy their recess time and exercise creative energy while still being socially distanced.

This kit will also be easy to disinfect and keep away from others. It will be readily available for use in the event of a substitute as well. The long term goal is that the kit can be reused and replenished next year or as the need arises.
