Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

When teaching students with moderate to profound disabilities that are between the ages of 4 years old and 6 years old, learning functional life is extremely important. My students are working on foundational life skills such as potty-training, feeding, and dressing.

As a classroom staff, we target these skills with the students but it would have a phenomenal impact on the student's learning and skill retention if they are also able to practice these skills through play.

An additional benefit to my students using the doll set, pretend kitchen, and other materials is the opportunity to communicate and collaborate which is an area of significant need for my students as well.
