This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My kinder students seek opportunities to use various materials to play and build structures.

Our classroom started implementing Purposeful Play into the curriculum.

Therefore, with wooden blocks, students can develop essential skills in mathematics, such as understanding shapes, patterns, and spatial relationships. For example, they can explore concepts of measurement and volume by stacking and arranging blocks in different configurations.

Additionally, wooden blocks encourage creativity and problem-solving as students design structures, fostering their engineering and architectural skills. Working collaboratively with peers while building with blocks enhances communication and teamwork abilities, making it a well-rounded educational activity.

Overall, the tactile nature of wooden blocks provides a hands-on approach to learning, allowing students to explore, experiment, and apply their knowledge in a fun and interactive way.
