This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Kindergarten is coming to an end! We are well on our way to being readers, authors and mini mathematicians at our Title 1 school outside Atlanta, GA. This is the first year in school for most of my students. They are learning not only reading and math, but how to speak English as well. All the students speak another language at home, and yet, they continue to amaze me with their determination.
In Kindergarten, work and play go hand in hand.
School starts so early in the morning, but once they hit our classroom door, the magic happens. It is a long day, filled with learning and new challenges. These kids stay busy, busy, busy from bell to bell!
My Project
Independent Center time is an important part of our day. It allows students to put what they have learned into action, try it out for themselves and practice new skills in a safe environment. They also need to learn how to work on their own, with a partner or in a small group.
It is important the materials in their centers are engaging, challenging and durable.
The Lakeshore Early Language Folder Game Library fits the bill! The wonderful variety of games, the multiple levels of learning, and the easy to organize system will be a really meaningful addition to our class.
