My students need great books like Grade 2 nonfiction book set, Swing Sloth, along with other books and great brain break and center activities like Hot Dots Math Flash Cars, Math Dice Jr., Tile lock Scrabble to keep them interested and exciting about learning all day.
This is my first year teaching second grade, and I am super excited! My own second grader is moving to third this year, and has shared some of the great things he learned in his own classroom. Children learn from imitation, and my goal is to help them become fluent, and confident readers. I love making my classroom warm and inviting. I feel it makes my students want to learn and feel comfortable. Each year I meet such sweet, good hearted children, and my one goal is to make a difference in their life. Even if the one thing they take away from me is being a good, caring person, I feel that my job is complete.
My Project
I know my munchkins will just love the games during center time, or Fun Fridays. They work so hard everyday and deserve something to keep them motivated and exciting about their learning.

They are able to listen to reading and voice fluctuation being modeled by someone other than myself which may be helpful to some students. Having a rich classroom library is so important because it gives the students a fantastic selection of books to browse through right in our own classroom environment. I am certain with audiobooks, and a strong classroom library my students will want to read and be excited about learning.
