Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our preschool class is full of vibrant, eager learners. We utilize play-based learning; this allows students to learn by participating in hands-on learning activities. Through play, we are able to teach students academics, social-emotional skills, physical skills, problem-solving, persistence, language development, and the arts. The requested materials will help to increase interest, engagement, and extended participation.

The items on our wish list will help to expand our Discovery/Science area, Writing area, and Dramatic Play area, as well as to overcome sensory challenges that inhibit some learners from fully participating in classroom activities.

The fidgets and the sensory diet cards will help students who need extra support to process big emotions and keep their bodies calm. The jellyfish lamp will be used to help bring about a calming atmosphere. The light table, Rainbow Blocks, and food scale will help to increase engagement in STEAM-related activities in our Discovery area. The paper sorter will allow for more independence and a greater variety of materials in the Writing Area. The doll accessories and pretend food will increase interpersonal relationships and self-help skills.
