My students need kid safe appliances, shopping baskets, and plastic animals to promote creative and imaginative play.

My Students

The best way to describe my students is: young, high energy, and excited about school. When they enter school this is their first experience, they are kindergartners. My class is made up of boys and girls, all from different backgrounds and cultures. From the first day that they enter the classroom, they remind me of "sponges," with the way they absorb everything they are exposed to. The students are enthusiastic about learning, curious about all subjects, and have an overwhelming joy for coming to school everyday.

Learning through play is an essential part of education and helps build a students Social Emotional Learning (SEL) skills.

Learning through play is how children learn to get along with one another, share materials, and interact with one another in a positive way. These are all important skills for children to learn to be successful in life.

My Project

Listening to children play in a kindergarten classroom will bring a smile to any parent or teachers face. The children are learning while they play. The materials in this project will help promote play in my classroom and encourage my students to play with one another in a positive manner. The animals and kid-safe appliances will promote imaginative play. The learning possibilities through play time are endless.

Play is an essential part of a student's education.

Through "play" students learn how to interact with one another in positive ways, develop their imagination, work on necessary communications skills, and most importantly, enjoy playing with friends. Without play, students will not be able to develop important skills including: communication, ability to get along with others, being a team player, fairness, and creativity.
