Help me give my students Play Dough, Play Dough accessories and Mr. Potato Head for fine motor fun!

My Project

Play Dough is well known as a favorite activity for kids of ALL ages as is Mr. Potato Head. This is probably the reason both of these activities have been around for so many years! I know played with them as a child as have my children and now my grandchildren absolutely love them!

What children don't realize is that both of these "toys" are very important learning activities including small motor skills!

By squishing and forming shapes with Play Dough and fitting the pieces with Mr./Mrs. Potato Head, the children are building the the muscles and coordination in their hands. They are learning to share and work together when in groups. They use their imagination and creativity and of course a little humor. In other words, they have fun while learning! Oh, and know that these wonderful toys are a great for anxiety relief! So, in other words these activities are such a Win Win I feel they are a must for my amazing kids!

Our school is considered a Title I school. Many of the children live in low-income housing, or shelters. For some, English is their second language and some have experienced traumatic experiences that most of us can hardly comprehend. Some have special needs and every student at our school qualifies for free breakfast and lunch. Yet, they come to school every day with a desire to learn and have fun!
