My Students

Kindergarten is an exciting time for students. My students enter Kindergarten eager to learn more about books. They enter with a fiery passion to reach their goal of learning how to read. In my classroom, we sing, dance, and play game to learn phonics skills needed to obtain their goal. We also use some of our read aloud stories to explore science, social studies, and math concepts. Thank you for your support as we learn about our world through books!

My Project

Play-based learning is one of the best ways for children to learn to read. Center time and small group time is one of my students favorite times of our day because it gives them the opportunity to explore the concepts that we are learning. It also will allow students to build social-emotional skills as it allows students to interact with each other and solve problems.

These reading centers will help students engage in a playful way with letters and sounds to create words.

These centers were also chosen the differentiate and give opportunities for students to learn at their level. Then, they can take this knowledge gained through play into reading books in our classroom and beyond. Beyond just the reading skills that students will gain.
