Play Based Literacy Where Reading Is Play!

Help me give my students supplies like puppets and toys, for enhancing the reading experience. This year we are introducing a new class play based literacy to engage our students in play while teaching reading skills.

My Project

I plan to use the supplies in this list to enhance literacy skills by encouraging students to play while forming their letters and building words with playdough and magnets.

Having students use puppets to talk for them helps takes the pressure off of them when answering questions, and telling stories.

Finding puppets that aren’t an animal or even a person leaves a lot for their imagination the stories they create could take them anywhere.

Markers, crayons, and clay oh my! I really would love to have students creat their own character that they will make a story about. Making sure to use their literary elements they learned.
