This will help build our school wide Makerspace. All students k-4 will have access to these materials. Our hope is to let students explore the exciting world of STEM as one of the Universal Learning Designs. We want students discover the world around them, new creations, and themselves using these materials. These materials will be offered as a tool to help learners discover their path for learning. Students will be able to experience flexible learning in their library class unlike how they have before with more options and hands on activities from the makerspace. I have always dreamed of having a makerspace at school! The philosophy behind Maker Education is that children can create and build anything given the material, time, and space. The makerspace is an area where students can invent using a variety of new or reusable materials. My vision is to start a makerspace in my classroom that can eventually grow into a makerspace for the school. Makerspace activities provide students the opportunity to collaborate and develop 21st Century and STEM skills. Students will be allowed to have creative freedom as well as use the materials. The resources in this project will provide the construction tools necessary for innovation. Students will be able to collaboratively build and explore flexible learning. "Play is often talked about as if it were relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning." - Fred Rodgers
