My Project
I look for learning opportunities throughout the day, not only during instructional periods. Lunch is a time when students often have extra time on their hands, and years of experience have taught me that this time can be used for getting into mischief or for learning. I would like to use it to engage the students in play based learning.
In order for play based learning to occur during lunch, a variety of supplies from play dough to puzzles, costumes to musical instruments must be available to students in our cafeteria.
Right now, we are carrying large bins up and down 8 flights of stairs each day during lunch. Your donation of a storage cabinet would provide us with a safe and secure space to store our recess activity supplies in the cafeteria and allow the students the greatest opportunity for play based learning.
