Help me give my students with autism, magnetic animals, magnetic tiles and learning toys to be used in conjunction with a positive behavior support system. Students will be rewarded fun learning activities for good behavior.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My classroom is a self-contained class of non-verbal students with autism. Communication and behavior can be challenging when they are frustrated or when they are being taught a skill they do not want to particularly want to do.
Positive behavior support rewards, such as STEM toys, puzzles, and sensory toys have a positive effect on each child.
My goal is to reward my students for their good behavior while also teaching them a skill, such as sitting down or completing their school work.
A positive behavior support reward system is researched based and very effective.
