My Students
I have had the pleasure of teaching awesome scholars in grade K-4 with multiple disabilities. My classroom consists of various disabilities (autistic, verbal and nonverbal). Learning may seem easy and natural for their peers, but it is neither easy nor natural for my scholars. Despite their challenges, my students are eager to come to school and are ready to learn.
My goal as an educator is to provide a creative learning environment with hands on opportunities to connect and engage learning, build confidence and equip them with life and academic skills necessary to be capable citizens regardless of their disabilities.
My Project
Engaging in learning activities with the Little Scholar tablet will teach interactive play and reinforce basic academic concepts. With the Scholar Tablet, my scholars will be able to use the preloaded content to further our studies with reading, mathematics and science. Students would also be able to use the Scholar tablet in small groups to reinforce sight words, letter sounds and fine motor skills by manipulating the various operations of the tablet.
These resources will make a difference in my students' academic progress as they will aid in fostering independent learning.
My students take pride in completing a task with minimal teacher support; having materials such as Little Scholar tablets would put them on a pathway towards independence.
