My Students

We are an open concept, play based Kindergarten with three teachers working with three classrooms of children. Our space is flexible and children select the work and play space that is best for what they are doing at the moment. We encourage children to choose both the activity and space that will enable them to be engaged, excited, and do their best work.

As their teacher, it is my responsibility to provide the materials (both curricular and play) and flexible working spaces that support all students' learning and excitement about what they are doing.

My Project

While we will be starting this school year distantly, the physical classroom environment remains important to the social-emotional and academic growth of all my Kinders. When we return they need to be invited in to the classroom through exciting and engaging play and work spaces. They need to feel the urge to run in and embrace the classroom and all it offers them. Play and peer interaction will be vital to creating that excitement and ultimately a feeling of belonging in the classroom.

The dramatic play home center invites play and imaginations to run wild!

Kinders are exploring concepts and relationships through interactions with each other and language. This play enables them to be themselves while learning and having fun!
