Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The materials listed in this project (laminating pouches, Tack-it, felt rhyme pieces, and multicolored light blocks) will support my students with visual impairments and developmental disabilities by creating opportunities to use materials in new and creative ways.

These materials can all be used in a variety of ways to support early childhood development!

The laminating pouches and Tack-it will replace the use of velcro for error-less activities and other interactive activities. The sound and texture of velcro can upset certain children, but by using Tack-it I can avoid the use of Velcro all together while still maintaining the importance of the activity. The felt rhyme pieces will support learning by adding a visual and tactile component to the songs and rhymes that we already sing each day! The multicolored light blocks will be used in our "Little Room" which is a small darkened space in the classroom that has different types of light up and sound toys to support learners with visual impairments. I know that my students will love to use these block on our light table!
