Help me give my students the experience of traveling around the world to the different biomes. These materials will be used to turn FIVE CLASSROOMS into the Arctic, Savannah, Ocean, Forest, and Rainforest.

My Students

Every child who steps into our classrooms has different needs, skills, abilities, and circumstances. Trying to meet the needs of all of them can be difficult, but there are places that teachers can start. As teachers, we want to create the most engaging lessons possible to help our students love learning. To do this, we are beginning our science unit on plants and animals by taking 100 fourth graders on a trip around the world to learn! We will be transforming FIVE CLASSROOMS into the different biomes and teach each topic discussed in this unit. The classrooms will be turned into the African Savanna, Ocean, Arctic, Deciduous Forest, and Rainforest. Students will learn about food webs, adaptations, community, human impact, parts of a plant and so much more!

My Project

Our fourth grade team will be completing a large unit on plants and animals, where we will transform FIVE CLASSROOMS into the different biomes of the world. We want to engage students as much as possible and provide them with an experience they will never forget!

These materials paired with animals, live cams, sounds of nature, and hands on activities, will give students the opportunity to explore, learn, and master each concept in the most authentic environment possible.

Students will travel to each room with their Wildlife Biologist journal to learn about a different topic. In the savanna students will learn about food chains and webs. In the arctic students will learn about behavioral and physical adaptations. In the ocean the students will learn about human impact and how they can have a positive or negative effect on their environment. In the deciduous forest, students will learn about community and niches. In the rainforest, students will learn about the different parts of a plant.
