Planting Seeds to Grow to the Top

My students need math centers, math trays, and dominoes to increase their daily life mathematical skills as well as improve the school status.

Give them a chance to succeed! I am a second and third grade combination class teacher. My students are 100% African American, 100% free lunch and 100% impoverished.

Majority of my students' favorite subject is math. Anything relating to math grabs their attention and they crave to learn more and more. For the 2007-2008 school year the third grade students' scores went down which is a result of inadequate supplies to keep them engaged and interested in the area of math. Whenever they can use their hands to solve problems or participate in centers, there is a higher level of interest as well as grade improvements.

My students need math centers activities where they can become somewhat responsible and self motivated to learn more about math. Many of my students do not have the basics of addition and subtraction down pat. The supplies requested would help increase the possibilities of them grasping an understanding of mathematical concepts. The use of math centers, dominoes and math trays with manipulatives will meet differentiated instruction amongst the various students within my classroom.

My students are considered to be the low of the low. Here's your chance to help my students receive what they need to enhance their education and become academically successful. My students are handed the scraps and do not have adequate resources to learn with, please help us!
