My Project

Having a classroom garden would be a wonderful addition for my students.

I would love to give my second graders the experience of growing plants in our classroom.

Learning what plants need to grow and flourish and the plant life cycle are two of our second grade science standards.

We have three large windows where I would love to have the plant biosphere, garden root viewer, along with a variety of succulents and houseplants. I would also have the students use the small pots to grow plants from seeds. The led plant bulbs would help us be able to sprout seeds inside no matter the temperature. We are a Title I school and many of our students live in apartments or areas where growing a garden at home isn’t possible. I would definitely also have them grow some vegetables throughout the year with the materials so they could try eating something freshly grown. Thank you in advance from the bottom of my heart for helping support this project for my sweet second graders!
