My Project

The first grade students will plant succulents in small terra cotta plants that they paint themselves. They will learn about succulents and how to care for them by writing out handling directions. They will review the basic needs of plants throughout this process.

With Mother's Day right around the corner, we wanted to integrate the arts, writing, social studies and science together to make gifts for our moms.

They will use acrylic paint markers to paint their terra cotta pots prior to potting the plants. This project integrates many content areas while creating something lovely for the moms of our first graders.
