My Project
Middle school is a challenging time for many students, but for students with print-based learning disabilities, middle school is a time of feeling fear that your peers will notice that you have not yet mastered reading and spelling. We can begin to overcome this by making intentional decisions about their learning. We can plan appropriate lessons that build on what they can do and extend their thinking and understanding towards grade level.

My students need to be involved in their learning. With what I can learn from The Writing Revolution and Patterns of Power, I will be able to involve my students in their writing acquisition. With Word Ladders with Morphemes, I will be able to involve my students in the use of morphemes to build their vocabularies, leading to increased understanding of words that they encounter. These resources will help move my students closer to a place where they will become successful readers and writers.
