Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a high-needs area in New York City. Many of my students struggle to just bring in a backpack and school supplies. I have mostly provided school supplies for them, but thankfully many of them come to school with an over-enthusiastic mindset to learn.
Many of my students do not live closely as well, and often need to take public transportation to arrive at our school.
Regardless of which, they show up eager to learn new things and ready to move onto the next level.
My Project
Many students can be disorganized and forget what they are assigned to do for homework or long term projects. Having a student planner will definitely help with those types of situations. The planners will keep students organized and students will learn to allocate their time for homework and projects.
Many of our students are so eager to learn and very enthusiastic about coming to school.
However, students have a hard time keeping track of their assignments. Some of our special-need students would really benefit from student planners, as well as their parents as I often get calls about their assignments.
The planners will go a long way and to teach the students good habits about planning ahead and keeping track of assignments.
