My Project

My students in grades 9-12 will work in the wood shop and build an 8 x 12 shed. They will start by learning construction terminology and building a model of their full-size project built to scale.

Speed squares will help students understand the slope or pitch of a roof and how to cut the boards to work for their shed.

Tape measures are necessary to help the students know how to read a tape measure, understanding fractions better.

Lastly, after the model is built, students will begin making the actual project. Our local lumberyard will assist us in selling it to regain the material cost after we are done.
