My Students

I teach at an all boys STEM prep school. I teach from an Afrocentric lens. I provide higher order thinking for my students. They are learning to become radical, ready and brave. They receive rigorous instruction and thrive off learning. They come from all across the district to come to school. They are so eager to learn. The students learn best when they can see themselves in the text.

My Project

My students are having trouble with place value and borrowing and regrouping. I have no document camera so its hard for me to show the students. So having magnetic place value materials will allow for all students to be fully engaged and learning because they can use them on the white board. My students learn by doing and this would greatly benefit them and their learning. The number lines will support them in adding and subtracting. These tools will allow for more interaction and collaboration with teacher and with each other. These materials will support me in my teaching greatly and will allow students to come to the board to manipulate them and to solve the problems.
