My Project
A block center is a foundational space in a PK classroom. My PK students this school year have made a variety of buildings using our unit blocks including castles, haunted houses, and towers.
This project will provide a 3 Little Pigs provocation to re-engage students in the block center.
This project includes several new items for our block center. Students will be able to wear construction outfits to help them get into character to become engineers, architects, and builders. This project also includes special unit blocks like doors and windows which can be added to the buildings. There is also a copy of the book, The Three Little Pigs, and puppets for students to reenact the story in our block center.
The theme of building and pigs will also be tied to several centers in our classroom. In small world, students will be able to create stories with a favorite character Peppa Pig. In our library, there will be several new fiction and non fiction books about pigs. In our discovery center, students will be able to explore new building materials including gem blocks and a wooden scale.
