Help me give my students the love of science through the measurement kit, the block ramps, elevator, crane, and various water manipulates! What better way to enhance the students critical thinking skills!
We are a Title 1 VPK program. Our program has a diverse group of cultures, where many of the children's needs are met at school. I would like to give them opportunities to experience things that they would not ordinarily get a chance to experience. Science is one of the ways to help them use their imaginations, to help them build their confidence, and to experience higher order thinking. By adding some science materials to both our indoor and outdoor classroom, each student will hopefully develop a true love of science!
My Project
Science and water will continue to enhance the PK classroom that I strive to create. My Science enriched classroom will be a place that my students will really enjoy! The students will be able to independently work, or in a group, with these items. Every science item that is placed in my classroom is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to explore and learn. All of these items have been chosen with my students in mind, I have watched them the past few weeks of school gravitate to the Discovery Center, and I have also asked them what type of things they would enjoy discovering with. Students will be able to choose items, which will help them continue to enjoy independent discovery time.
The products that I have selected will help my students by enhancing their critical thinking skills through more effective learning choices.
Students get an instant, visual grasp of measurement concepts like capacity and volume through hands-on materials. They will explore motion, friction, cause and effect, and more, with a 2-lane activity ramp, block elevator, and block play crane and conveyor belt, that brings STEM concepts to life! The water manipulates will also enhance the students critical thinking skills as well as literacy! These will be extremely beneficial for some students that do not have the opportunities at home.
