Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students learn by using real world experiences. We will be incorporating life skills with math. We are creating a Pizza Parlor in our classroom to practice math such as money skills, fractions, decimals, and taxes. We will have real world experiences of placing orders, receiving orders, making a bill and receipt.

The parlor table and chairs will give them the real world experience of sitting at a restaurant and ordering food.

They will have a mock menu to check prices. They will see the sizes of the pizza to check to make sure there are enough slices for everyone(fraction).

Giving real world experiences now helps make contributing citizens in the future. These life skills will be used to live life, get a job, and be productive.
