Help me give my students a much awaited jump start to our varsity baseball program by donating funds for updated equipment that will meet league requirements and allow us to compete.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My student athletes are a hungry, hard-working group of young men who are fighting to revive a baseball program that has become non-existent.
These student athletes come from a variety of backgrounds, but they all have one major thing in common; they want to play baseball!
I am currently in my 2nd year at this school, and these young men have tried their hardest to put together a team. We have fallen short once, but I believe that we will get over the hump with some help from our community.
My Project
My student athletes live in a rural community in which the school receives Title I funds. One thing that our students rely on to keep them going is athletics. However, over the past 4 years, baseball has been one of the sports that has fallen off completely. I was approached by a group of young men who love America's Pastime.
WE WANT A BASEBALL TEAM!
I am trying to revive a baseball program that has been defunct for quite some time. In order to do so, our student athletes need updated equipment so that they can compete on the varsity level and be in compliance with rules and regulations. These items are vital in being able to restart a program that our student athletes have longed for.
