My Students

In any music ensemble, a badly tuned instrument is ineffective. In the orchestra, it is crucial to have a well turned instrument so students can produce beautiful music. With these tuners, students are given the opportunity to not just sound good, but also master the needed skill of ear training.

My students are risk takers and eager learners.

They take challenges introduced to them knowing there may be a chance of failure. My students are diligent learners who take pride and love what they do. My school incorporates the middle years International Baccalaureate Program, where appreciating other cultures in an middle school education setting is the expectation. Students learn from each other and learn how to work together to reach the common goal of improving, educating, and respecting one another.

My Project

My students have to learn the importance of ear training and how it effects the outcome of a performance. With this device, students are learning how to tune their instruments, becoming comfortable of learning the craft, and in the long term, become self-sufficient young musicians. Students will not have to depend on myself to tune their instruments, and the more practice they attain, the more familiar they will become with this skill.

With these tuners, students will learn an important skill that is a required standard in our state.

Students should be able distinguish the good and poor intonation. These devices will aide students in performing and practicing using correct techniques.
