Pitch Exploration With Puppets, Pathways, and Pipe Cleaners

My Students
The 750 students at our school are creative and full of amazing energy. They love to try new instruments and musical activities and since this a school of Inquiry and Performing Arts, they get to do this almost every day. The love stories, drumming, and dancing.
Our students come from a variety of social-economic backgrounds, so we are always looking for equitable ways to do our music class activities.
My Project
Our itty bitties need some help with their chest voice and exploring their singing and head voices. I have done some research on pitch exploration activities and added the items that I believe will be the most helpful and exciting to my students.
I'm hoping that by using a visual representation of the puppets and pipe cleaner, students will be more inspired to use their singing voices in a playful and creative way.
The puppets will also serve as student engagement tools, should we ever need to go virtual again.
