This project will be for my robotics team. This is my second year being the robotics coach and last year my team made it all the way to state. My robotics team is made up of 10 5th grade students. They had to work really hard to be chosen for this opportunity. They have to keep a 75 or above in all subjects and they have to be able to work well with others. These 10 students have to stay after school twice a week until 5:00.
My Project
For this project, I am requesting help with purchasing a Lenovo Chromebook for my robotics team. This Chromebook will be used during robotics every time we meet. We will use it for research for our project and we will also use it to program our robot. We will also have to take this Chromebook to competitions with us when we go. In robotics, my students have to research a certain topic and come up with a project. For example, last year, my team researched how water was transported and then had to come up with a better way to transport the water. They had to create a presentation to explain their ideas to 3 to 4 judges. They also have to program a robot to do many different missions in a very short amount of time. When our school started the robotics program, we had a very small computer that we used to program the robot and take with us to competitions. This computer is now very outdated and keeps freezing up on us. I am trying to raise money to get my team some new computers.
