My Project

My job is to inform and inspire the scientists of the future. I work in a diverse high school in central Missouri. We are located in a college town, but it can feel far away from the places where "real" discoveries are brought to life.

By working to update my laboratory, I strive to provide my students with continual inquiry based experiences that use relavant scientific tools.

By providing the right equipment I can integrate experiences that expand their critical thinking skills and create a foundation of confidence and fluidity within their studies now and in the future. Having a knowledgable guide is helpful, but experience is the best teacher. Providing relevant science tools allows for this to happen in a natural way.

Diverse, urban schools stretch their resources in order to meet the needs of the communities they serve. Scienctific tools for expansive learning opportunities often do make it to the top of list of priorities. I challenge this by striving to update my teaching space continually.
