My Project
Sports are an excellent way to build community and teamwork. Through sports, students learn collaboration, awareness of their peers and their own strengths, perseverance, goal setting, and more. In my PE classroom, my students are exposed to a wide variety of indoor and outdoor sports.
I want to teach my PE classes critical skills for teamwork through table tennis.
Unfortunately, not all elementary schools in our district have full-time PE teachers, leaving the students with gaps in skills when they come to middle school. While we can access full-size tennis courts, most students have not played table tennis. Having access to this game will encourage them to participate and have fun while using critical thinking skills and strategy.
