My Students
Our students come from the inner city. They are good children and they are eager to learn. Many students come from challenging backgrounds and they depend on school to be a safe and important part of their day. Our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Our students are in serious need of many school-related items.
The students are kind and compassionate. They work and play well together. Most importantly they believe in community and they love school.
My Project
The Pine Car Derby Kit are a group of science and math lessons. Through our curriculum each student will recieve a basic racing car kit. This is what we are asking for is one kit per student for math and science hands on learning.
A PINE CAR DERBY KIT for EACH INDIVIDUAL STUDENT!
As a math and science teacher I am super excited for this opportunity. Every student will be able to design, build, and race their Pine car. I hope to cover aerodynamics of shapes specifically triangles. Also we will go over place value and measurement as we record ft per second, time, and distance.
